Living with Jesus is an adventure. That’s because He’s got us on a mission. His Father had sent Him on a mission. And He sends us on a mission. What’s the mission? It’s to make disciples.
Here’s how he put it: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).
There are a few parts to this: (1) Before I can make a disciple, I’ve got to start being one myself; that starts with baptism, which is how we become a part of the community of disciples (the church). (2) Next, obedience; before I can teach someone how to obey, I’ve got to start figuring it out for myself. (3) And then helping others become disciples of Jesus too.
Our Purpose Statement at the top shows how the people at SFPC want to help you on your journey.
We offer you transformational relationships—community—friends (or people who become friends) that meet together weekly for five purposes: to Study God’s Word, Worship the Lord, Care for Each Other, Love our Neighbors, and Relate as Friends. This is what we call a Small Group.
